INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- ½ tsp OOOFlavors Blue Raspberry Candy Flavor
- Blue food coloring (optional)
- Confectioners sugar, for dusting
- 6–8 wooden skewers or lollipop sticks
DIRECTIONS
-
Prepare the candy sticks:
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly dust it with confectioners sugar to prevent sticking.
- Insert wooden skewers or lollipop sticks into the parchment paper, spacing them apart to allow the candy to form around them.
-
Cook the sugar mixture:
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir over medium heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.
-
Bring to hard-crack stage:
- Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil. Insert a candy thermometer and cook without stirring until the temperature reaches 300°F (hard-crack stage).
-
Add flavor and color:
- Remove the saucepan from heat and carefully stir in OOOFlavors Blue Raspberry Candy Flavor and blue food coloring (if desired). Be cautious as the mixture will be extremely hot.
-
Pour the candy:
- Carefully pour the hot mixture over the prepared skewers or sticks on the parchment paper. Allow the candy to cool and harden completely, about 30–60 minutes.
-
Break and finish:
- Once hardened, gently break the candy into smaller pieces using a mallet or rolling pin, if desired. Dust the candy with additional confectioners sugar to prevent sticking.
-
Serve and store:
- Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
